Low Cut Connie is an indie rock band fronted by singer/songwriter Adam Weiner. The band, known for their down and dirty rock and roll music and energetic live shows, was approached by Our Town Brewery to collaborate on a special edition beer, Connie Classic.

Adam reached out to me, wondering if I’d be interested in designing the label. After describing the beer as “the kind of beer your dad drank in the 70s,” I jumped at the chance. In addition to designing the label, I also concocted an advertisement poster in the style of classic beer ads from the 70s.

PROJECT CHALLENGES

While Low Cut Connie pays homage to rock and roll icons of yesteryear, they never want to appear as pastiche. I avoided any direct references to existing vintage labels and instead created something fresh that had the vibe of something classic.
