PLANET VS. PLASTICS

EARTHDAY.ORG, the nonprofit that sprung from the first Earth Day event in 1970, has a worldwide presence in the environmentalism sector. With programs centered around education, reforestation, fast fashion reduction, and more, EDO has remained a powerful advocate for the planet for over 55 years.

MY ROLE

(Creative Direction, Graphic Design, Video Production)

In 2024, EDO’s theme was Planet Vs. Plastics, and the goal was to educate the public on the growing dangers of plastic production and waste and to pressure those in places of power to speak out against the growing plastic problem. As the Digital Content Creator, I was tasked to take the big idea of “Planet Vs. Plastics” and make it digestible, educational, and sharable.

PROJECT CHALLENGES

The twisty world of plastic production and the frequently heady science behind pollution are inherently difficult topics. I had to make sure that the facts were straight and also easily understood.
